Iran Press/Europe: Through injecting gas into the new generation of IR6 centrifuges, Iran took a further step in nuclear science using centrifuges designed indigenously capable of enriching uranium 10 times more than their first generation.
The head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization (IAEO) Ali Akbar Salehi on Monday unveiled the new generation of centrifuges of IR6 in Natanz enrichment facility in Isfahan, central Iran.
The activation of the new generation of centrifuges conveys two clear messages; first, it indicates the dominance of the Iranian scientists in nuclear science and their capability in this regard.
Second, the further step could be assessed as Iran's response to the European signatories of Iran's international nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
As the head of IAEO has asserted the activation of the new generation of centrifuges was supposed to be carried out by the coming four years, but the failure of the Europeans in fulfilling their commitments to the deal led to such a decision made by Iran earlier as expected.
Last May, in the anniversary of the US' scrapping the JCPOA, Iran announced that it scales back its commitments to the nuclear deal to compensate for the European sides' (Franc, UK, Germany) failure in fulfilling their commitments to the JCPOA.
Iran has already taken three steps, and the fourth of which will be taken soon within days.
Earlier, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister confirmed Iran's scale-back measures to the JCPOA as a logical measure and blamed the US for the current situation.
Nonetheless, the reductive measures taken must be significant in a way that they should be beneficial to Iran and alarming to the opposite side of the deal.
Iran has taken scale-back steps to the extent that it has made the European Union urging Tehran on Monday to abandon its countermeasures, calling on Iran to abide by its commitments to the nuclear deal.
But the question is that if abiding by the content of the JCPOA is important, so why the Europeans themselves do not fulfill their commitments to the deal; or if it is bad to fulfill the commitments, so why does Europe issue statements, advising Iran to abide by the deal; why is that the case?
It seems that the European parties are in favor of preserving that the deal, yet they want it at the cost of Iran's embracing the US sanctions.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has adhered to its obligations to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) at the insistence of the remaining signatories of the deal; but JCPOA is a bilateral agreement based on trust, and if that trust is lost, all parties will be losers.
The gradual withdrawal of Iran from its obligations is considered as a multi-stage warning to the European parties in that if Iran's rightful demands under the internationally signed deal are ignored, they must await its costs. 101/219
