European Union and the UK welcomes US-Israeli plan

The European Union’s foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell and UK's Prime Minister welcomed the US president’s so-called 'Deal of the century' on the decades-old Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Iran Press/Europe:  High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said in a statement released on Tuesday 28 January.

Borell claimed that the so-called plan proposed by the United States provides an opportunity to relaunch the efforts to resolve the conflict between the Israeli regime and the rightful people of Palestine.

The European Union will study and assess the proposals put forward," he added. "This will be done on the basis of the EU's established position and its firm and united commitment to a negotiated and viable two-state solution that takes into account the legitimate aspirations of both the Palestinians and the Israelis, respecting all relevant UN resolutions and internationally agreed parameters," he stressed.

The UK embraces Trump's self-claimed deal

Meanwhile, the UK also welcomed the so-called, self-claimed of Donald Trump. The U.K. announced its support Tuesday for U.S. President Donald Trump’s controversial Middle East plan.

A statement from the British government also confirmed the phone call between Trump and Johnson.“The leaders also discussed the United States’ proposal for a deal between the Israeli regime and occupied Palestinians, which could prove a positive step forward,” the statement said, confirming Johnson’s support for the so-called deal.

Earlier, British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab also released a statement to say they “welcome” the deal.

Israel is the United States’ biggest regional ally and has vigorously been supported by successive American administrations.
