Iran Press/ Iran news: The eighth round of talks on removing sanctions, which began on December 27, 2021, entered a breathtaking phase on March 11, 2022, at the suggestion of EU Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell and the negotiators returned to their capitals for political consultations.
EU Foreign Policy Chief, Josep Borrell, told the Financial Times that he asked Mora to visit Tehran to discuss the remaining issues in Vienna negotiations and claimed that Iran “was very much reluctant.”
Borrel said that the EU is making a last-ditch attempt to save the Iran nuclear deal and break a deadlock triggered by Tehran’s demand that Washington lifts its terrorist designation on the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC).
After the Vienna talks reached a stage where the outcome depended on a political decision by the United States, the P4 + 1 negotiators, and Iran, while maintaining continuous contact, pursued negotiations to reach an agreement on the remaining issues through the exchange of messages.

Given the European Union's role in exchanging views between Tehran and Washington, Enrique Mora's visit to Tehran could be a new step in constructive consultations on the few crucial remaining issues.
Although the continuation of aggressive approaches by the United States against Iran contradicts the notion of negotiations to reach an agreement, the negotiation process has continued.
Achieving a strong, lasting, and credible agreement is possible but requires Washington to be realistic and learn from the mistakes that make up today's complex situation.
