The Eid al-Ghadir Commemoration Committee in Sana'a has announced more than 30 squares in different parts of the city for people's gatherings to celebrate Eid al-Ghadir this year.
Every year, different Yemeni tribes from different neighborhoods go to the main squares of the cities to celebrate Eid.
Eid al-Ghadir Khumm is a festive day observed by Shiite Muslims on the 18th of Dhu al-Hijjah in the Islamic calendar.
Eid al-Ghadir, or feast of Ghadir Khumm, marks the day when the Prophet of Islam appointed Ali ibn Abi Talib (PBUM), the first Shia Imam as his successor and Muslims’ next leader.

Ghadir tradition is one of the conclusive evidence for the immediate guardianship and caliphate of Imam Ali (a.s.) after the Prophet (s.a.w.a.). The researchers render special importance to it.
