Baghdad (IP) - The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces for International Affairs and Chairman of the Joint Military Commission of Iran and Iraq Brigadier General Qadir Nezami met the Iraqi Defense Minister Juma Inad in Baghdad.

Iran Press/Iran News: Brigadier General Qadir Nezami and Iraqi Defense Minister Juma Inad discussed ways to expand cooperation, defense, military, and counter-terrorism relations on Sunday.

Iran and Iraq, along with Russia and Syria, are cooperating on a joint security committee to fight terrorism.

Iran, Iraq, Russia, and Syria Quartet Information Exchange and Security Cooperation Center was set up in Baghdad in 2015 with the aim of exchanging information to combat terrorism. Since then, the latest coordination and exchange of information between member countries have taken place in various meetings.

The exchange of information, especially the intelligence supply of Iraqi and Syrian forces in identifying and targeting important and sensitive positions of ISIS and Takfiri terrorist outfits in Iraq and in some cases in Syria, has been one of the most important and successful functions of this center during its activity.
