Iran PressIran news: The people of Dalahou are often engaged in making and playing the Tanbour, and people use this Iranian instrument in their rituals and ceremonies.

The Tanbour is recognized as a totally Iranian musical instrument. Iran's Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism is trying to register the instrument as a genuine Iranian one in UNESCO World Heritage.

Minister Ali Asghar Mounesan noted on the occasion of World Handicrafts Day on Saturday that Iranian handicrafts were used all over the world as a manifestation of genuineness and creativity, because of the reviving consistency of art left in the heart of history.

Tanbour is one of the oldest Iranian hand-made musical instruments, which has a mystical aspect. The best wood for making Tanbour is prepared from blackberry tree, which is very rare and it is very difficult to prepare a good type of that.

The blackberry tree is resistant to wood pests and its streaks give a special beauty to the body of Tanbour.
