Iran Press/ Europe: Hundreds of Italians have been protesting in recent days in various Italian cities, including Rome, against the mandatory COVID-19 health certificate.
The Italian government has announced that from August 6, 2021, only people with a "European COVID Digital Certificate" or the same health certificate that proves a person has been vaccinated or tested negative will be allowed to enter closed places such as cinemas, museums, restaurants, and other public places.
Meanwhile, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi announced that the coronavirus emergency in the European country has been extended by the end of 2021 in order to prevent the spread of the virus, especially the Delta variant.
The Italian prime minister stressed the need to strictly adhere to health and vaccination protocols, saying the delta variant is a serious threat because it is spreading rapidly compared to other variants of the virus.
More than 4.13 billion vaccine doses have been administered worldwide, equal to 54 doses for every 100 people.
The global death toll is 4,240,374 with 199,022,838 confirmed cases.
