Iraqi news sources reported a missile attack on a Turkish military base in northern Iraq.

Iran PressMiddle East:  On Saturday evening, Turkiye's "Zelikan" base in Mosul province was targeted by 4 122mm missiles

More details about the explosion have not yet been reported.

Turkish forces are stationed at the Zelikan base in the Bashiqa region, northeast of Mosul, the capital of Nineveh province, Iraq. The Iraqi government and authorities have repeatedly asked Turkey to end its occupation in northern Iraq and withdraw its forces.

Turkiye has long been violating Iraq's territorial integrity by claiming to oppose elements of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). The PKK, which has been at loggerheads with the Ankara government for the past 35 years, is considered a terrorist group by Turkey, the United States and the European Union.

The Iraqi authorities also considered the Turkish army's repeated air and artillery attacks on northern Iraq as a violation of their country's sovereignty and demanded an end to it. 219
