The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran in a meeting with Tajikistan's foreign minister stated that the two countries have deep historical, religious and cultural ties, and these capacities should be used to strengthen relations in closer cooperation.

Iran PressIran News: The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, referred to his recent visit to Tajikistan and said: "During the recent visit, a new chapter in bilateral relations began that we should use this opportunity in the interests of the two nations."

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran further stressed the importance of cooperation between neighboring countries, especially Iran and Tajikistan, to establish peace and stability in Afghanistan, adding that Iran seeks the formation of an inclusive government, composed of all Afghan ethnic and political groups.

Raisi added that there should be an inclusive government in Afghanistan that can ensure the security of the country and put an end to war, bloodshed and fratricide.

During the meeting, the Tajik Foreign Minister described the visit of the Iranian President to his country as the beginning of a new chapter in the relations between the two countries and said: We are determined to increase the level of relations and cooperation with Tehran as much as possible and to implement and finalize the agreements reached.

Tajikistan believes that Iran's permanent membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization has many benefits and contributes to peace and stability in the region, Sirajuddin Mehraldin added. 219
