Iran Press/ Middle East: In reaction to Beirut's riots, Michel Aoun described the constitution as the only solution to such problems, saying: "Re-use of weapons is not acceptable and the government will guarantee freedom of expression."
A number of Lebanese people protesting against the actions of Tariq Bitar, the investigator in charge of the Beirut Port blast in August 2020, were demonstrating outside the Palace of Justice in the city when a group of anonymous gunmen open fire on them.
The attack led to the death of 6 people and the injury of more than 60 others.
In the wake of the incidents, Amal and Hezbollah Lebanese movements invited people to calmness, announcing that the attack on the protesters was carried out by outfits affiliated with 'Al-Quwwat al-Libnaniyah' (Lebanese Forces).
Earlier on Wednesday, Hezbollah and Amal movements called on supporters to rally near the Justice Palace to call for non-politicization of the probe into the Beirut Port blast.
The Lebanese took to the streets to protest an order by Tariq Bitar, a judge investigating the case of the Beirut Port blast in August 2020 to detain several Lebanese ministers and representatives.
