Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf

Tehran (IP) - The Iranian Parliament kicked off its open session to address the fifth wave of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.

Iran PressIran news: Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned about the fifth wave of the coronavirus crisis leading to the death of people.

Earlier, the Leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, communicated 12 priorities to the executive bodies of the country, at the top of which was the coronavirus crisis.

Ghalibaf also highlighted the significant role of people and Basij (volunteer forces) in the Martyr Soleimani campaign aimed at fighting against the coronavirus pandemic and helping the vulnerable people, either medically or financially, in remote and deprived areas.

He stressed taking restrictive measures to combat the pandemic as well as supply and distribution of the coronavirus vaccines during an 80-day period more seriously so that the transmission chain was cut off.   

Iran's Parliament Speaker then put emphasis on the plan to make control of the carriers of the virus as well as supporting the medical staff for their livelihood and medical health care.

Ghalibaf pointed to the reception of the new cabinet's list, saying: "The qualification of the proposed ministers would be examined during today and tomorrow's sessions."
