Tehran (IP) - The Head of Scientific Committee of the National Task Force for fighting coronavirus in Iran stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran is planning to produce 25.5 million doses of coronavirus vaccine by its companies.

Iran PressIran News: Mostafa Ghanei noted on Wednesday that Iran has been introduced as one of the countries producing the coronavirus vaccine at the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

Ghanei stated that out of 9 Iranian coronavirus vaccines, three vaccines are in the clinical trial and also the construction of a joint vaccine between Cuba and the Pasteur Institute of Iran is on the agenda. 

He also talked about the reason for Iran's cooperation with Cuba to produce the coronavirus vaccine, noting that Cuba's health system ranks first in the world in terms of justice, and it is one of the world powers in medical field.

Ghanei added that in the past, Cuba had worked with Iran to develop the hepatitis B vaccine, and the two countries have a good record in political and diplomatic relations.
