Iran elected as Vice-Chair of the UNWTO Affiliate Review Committee

Tehran (IP) - Iran was elected as Vice-Chairman of the UNWTO Affiliate Review Committee.

Iran PressIran news: Director-General of Marketing and Tourism Advertising of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Iran, Mohammad Qasemi, announced on Saturday that the country was elected as the Vice-Chairman of the Committee for the Study of Affiliate Membership of the World Tourism Organization.

Qasemi added: "The 31st meeting of the Regional Planning Council of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) with six committees of tourism, roads and communications, trade, agriculture, industry, and energy was hosted by the Islamic Republic of Iran in the form of a webinar."

In its Committee on Tourism, the document relates to ECO programs in the tourism sector, including the latest status of implementation of member states' obligations, as well as the cases that these countries are ready to fulfill in the future was reviewed and approved.

The Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) currently has about 330 million, with ten members including Iran, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
