President Masoud Pezeshkian, speaking on Saturday before departing New York, said: “We did not reach an understanding regarding the snapback mechanism because the United States' demand is unacceptable. They want us to hand over all our enriched uranium, and in return, they would give us only three months, which is absolutely unacceptable.”

Addressing reporters, President Masoud Pezeshkian said: “With the European parties, we reached an understanding regarding the snapback mechanism, but the U.S. wants something different.”

He emphasized, “A few months from now, they will make another demand and say they want to trigger the snapback again. If we have to choose between their unreasonable demand and the snapback, we will choose the snapback. And even if that happens, we will still be able to solve all our problems.”

The President added that necessary measures have been prepared in case the snapback is activated: “Given our relations with our neighbors, with BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and with the Iranian people who believe in their country, territorial integrity, dignity and pride, we will overcome the challenges.”

He stressed, “The actions of Israel and the support it receives from the United States generate nothing but hatred among all free people of the world. This trend has already been included in international discussions, and we hope that the global movement of hatred against Israel will soon show its effects.”

Referring to his meetings on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Pezeshkian said: “We tried through diplomacy to convey that Iran’s nuclear activities are civilian in nature and to make it clear that Iran is not pursuing nuclear weapons. What Israel and the U.S. claim is nothing but propaganda aimed at accusing Iran.”

The President reaffirmed: “Iran has not pursued, is not pursuing, and will not pursue nuclear weapons. This is the directive and religious decree of the leader.”

“If we are weak, they will crush us. We must strive to strengthen our power in every field, and if we become strong and maintain unity and cohesion, there will be no fear of such crises,” added the president.

In conclusion, Pezeshkian stated: “It is the Zionists who are dragging the world and the region into bloodshed. It is clear what disasters they have brought upon Gaza, Palestine, Lebanon, and other countries, while, unfortunately, the world merely watches. Those who support such heinous actions will gradually become more isolated, and history and the future will judge these crimes.”
