In a message, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq congratulated the government and the brotherly nation of Iraq on the third anniversary of the victory over the terrorist group ISIS.

Iran Press/Middle East: The message of the Iranian ambassador to Iraq Iraj Masjedi reads: "Undoubtedly, the resilience and stability of the Iraqi people and government, especially the armed forces, including the army, the federal police, the counter-terrorism apparatus, the Iraqi popular mobilization and the peshmerga, played a major role in the victory over ISIS."

Iranian ambassador added in this message: "The martyred commanders Lieutenant General Ghasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Mohandis played an important and decisive role in the full-scale fight against the ISIS terrorist group and the victory over the terrorists,  emphasizing that one of the reasons for the criminal and terrorist act of the United States in assassinating these two noble commanders was their role in defeating this terrorist group."

In this statement, Iraj Masjidi praising the role of Grand Ayatollah Sistani, the supreme authority of the Iraqi Shiites, who mobilized all means to fight the terrorist group ISIS, said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran reiterates to the government and nation-of Iraq that, as it stood by them in the fight against terrorism, it is now ready to cooperate, assist and provide all its resources to the Iraqi people, in spite of all oppressive sanctions to pave the way for the development and prosperity of their country.

Today, December 10, marks the third anniversary of Iraq's victory over the ISIS terrorist group, and the Secretariat of the Iraqi Council of Ministers has declared a public holiday tomorrow to commemorate the occasion. 219
