Ali Larijani, the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council arrived in Beirut, Lebanon, in the second leg of his regional tour to meet with Lebanese senior officials.

Why it matters:

Ali Larijani made the visit as the first one after being appointed Iran's Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) and as the Lebanese parliament has decided to disarm Hezbollah movement.

Ali Larijani began his official regional tour on Monday, August 11, 2025, with a visit to Iraq, where he met with political leaders, including his counterpart al-Aaraji.
