Why it matters:
Street protests have increased around the world over the ongoing disaster in Gaza, leading politicians from different countries to raise their voices in protest against Benjamin Netanyahu’s policies.
The big picture
On Monday night, hundreds of Tunisians gathered in front of the Tunis City Theater on Habib Bourguiba Avenue. The gathering was called “Coordination of Joint Action for Palestine,” and the protesters chanted slogans demanding an immediate end to the war.
What the protesters are saying:
The participants called the recent Israeli army attack on the Al Jazeera news team in Gaza “a premeditated crime to silence the voice of truth and hide the crimes committed against the besieged people for more than 22 months.”
The Israeli army's decision to attack Gaza goes beyond a routine military operation and is a prelude to a "wider assault on civilians." The targeting of journalists is part of an effort to impose media censorship and pave the way for greater crimes to be committed soon.
In Morocco, a group of citizens held a protest rally to condemn the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza.
