Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has urged Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to ban publishing posts containing anti-Islamic rhetoric on his platform.

Iran PressAsia: "Given the rampant abuse and vilification of Muslims on social media platforms, I would ask you to place a similar ban on Islamophobia and hate against Islam for Facebook that you have put in place for the Holocaust," Khan said in a statement via Twitter Sunday.

According to Khan, various parts of the world are now seeing "pogroms" against Muslims. In particular, he mentioned publications of caricatures targeting Prophet Mohammad in France, marginalization of Muslims, and "anti-Muslim laws" in India.

Pakistani Prime Minister stated, "Islam in France is now "associated with terrorism. This will lead to further polarization and marginalization of Muslims in France."
