In the meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of Senegal, the Iranian President emphasized the interest of the Islamic Republic of Iran to expand interactions and relations with Senegal, especially in the economic and political sectors, as well as to implement the agreements made in the joint commission of the two countries in the new period.

Iran PressAfrica: On Wednesday morning, Masoud Pezeshkian, in a meeting with Amadou Mame Diop, Speaker of the Parliament of Senegal, who has traveled to Tehran to participate in the swearing-in ceremony of the 14th term of Iran's presidency, expressed interest of the Islamic Republic of Iran in expanding interactions and relations with Senegal, especially in the economic and political sector as well as the implementation of the agreements made in the joint commission of the two countries in the new period.

The President further praised Senegal's positions in defending the oppressed Palestinian nation, and considered it necessary to develop relations between the two countries and create more synergy and coordination in international issues and developments, including the Gaza war, and added, "Islamic countries should speak loudly and unitedly, to play a role in condemning the crimes of the Zionist regime against the oppressed people of Gaza".

In this meeting, Amadou Mame Diop, Speaker of the Parliament of Senegal, praised the strong and decisive positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in supporting the Palestinian issue, calling Senegal and Iran's stances in supporting Palestine as close and said, "Being the president of the commission of securing the rights of the Palestinian people in the United Nations for 50 years is one of Senegal's prides".

The Speaker of the Parliament of Senegal also congratulated again on the election of Dr Pezeshkian as the President of the Iranian nation and pointed to the holding of a joint commission between the two countries last year and his country's interest in using Iran's knowledge, expertise and experiences in various sectors of energy, health and treatment and education as well as the implementation of the agreements made between the two countries in the government of Martyr Raisi.
