Ramazan Abdullah Shalah, the former secretary-general of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement, died last night at the age of 62 after a long illness, Al-Manar news network reported.

Shalah had been secretary-general of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad between 27 October 1995 and 2018.

He was placed on the United States FBI Most Wanted list for his effective role in supporting Palestine and fighting the Zionist regime.

From 1993 to 1995, Shalah was a professor at the University of South Florida in Middle Eastern Studies.
