Syria's permanent representative to the United Nations on Thursday accused Turkey of supporting terrorism in Syria, saying terrorists had destroyed Syria's urban infrastructure and forced millions to flee their homes.

Iran Press/America: Speaking at the UN Security Council meeting on Syria, Bashar al-Jaafari cited Turkey's aggression and attacks on northern Syria and said that Turkey was seeking to implement a terrorism project in Syria but would never succeed.

Operations by the Syrian army and its allies in the northern province of Idlib, the last base of terrorist groups in Syria, have triggered a backlash from Turkey and repeated threats.

Turkey is a major supporter of terrorist groups in Syria.

In recent weeks, the Turkish military has repeatedly targeted Syrian positions and infrastructure in Idlib province in support of terrorists.

Areas in northern Syria are currently occupied by the Turkish military.
