Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has strongly criticized US sanctions against Iran saying they have targeted people of Iran.

Iran Press/Iran news: Such sanctions have not and will not give anغ achievement to the White House, media reports quoted him saying at the Doha 2019 Forum on Saturday.

Cavusoglu said that Ankara is against the US sanctions which Iran has blasted as economic terrorism against its people.

Last year, the republican US President Donald Trump announced the unilateral exit of his government from the 2015 nuclear agreement with Iran reached by the democratic government of President Barack Obama.

In response to re-imposition of US nuclear sanctions and Europe's failure to provide Iran with advantages under the agreement, Tehran started incremental scale-back from the deal in2019 by starting uranium enrichment in its peaceful nuclear program which it had halted to observe the deal.
