Iran Press/Asia: China's foreign ministry on Monday called on the United States and the UK to stop interfering in Hong Kong's internal affairs.
China's foreign ministry said in a statement: "Hong Kong is an internal matter of Beijing and is governed directly by the central government, and no foreign country has the right to interfere."
The United States and the United Kingdom are among the countries that have always been involved in Hong Kong's internal affairs.
Hong Kong was under British rule from 1842 to 1997 but joined China in 1997.
Hong Kong has a population of 7,230,000 and is one of the most important financial and commercial markets in Asia.
