China: Trigger mechanism will not be activated

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman stated that we have repeatedly stressed that the United States has unilaterally withdrawn from the JCPOA and has lost its right to this agreement and has no legal right to implement the trigger mechanism.

Iran PressAsia: Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman reminding the United States of its failure to present a draft resolution extending the sanctions on Iran, said: "This country will not succeed again in weakening the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), so we ask this country not to go its own way and not to endanger world peace, otherwise it will face a dead end again."

Zhao Lijian added that it was not legal for the United States to seek a resolution against Iran or send a letter to the Security Council for sanctions.

The Chinese official further stated that his country is completely opposed to the deployment of US medium-range missiles in the Asia-Pacific region and believes that such actions will cause instability in the region.

Zhao Lijian called on the United States to act responsibly by moving in the right direction of history and to refrain from doing anything that undermines global and regional peace and stability.

The proposed US resolution to extend Iran's arms embargo failed to cross the UN Security Council barrier and registered another setback in US Diplomacy.

The resolution was formally opposed by the UN Security Council with 11 abstentions, two in favor (the US and the Dominican Republic), and two against.
