Boris Johnson is believed to be considering a run for PM after Liz Truss quit after just six weeks in the job.

Iran PressEurope: Boris Johnson is considering running again to be UK prime minister after Liz Truss’s dramatic resignation, with rightwing Conservative MPs and party donors already backing his nascent campaign.

The former British PM, who quit in disgrace in July following a series of scandals that left his personal integrity in tatters, was expected to fly back from the Caribbean where he has been on holiday with his family.

Johnson, who was forced out of Downing Street in the summer, is planning to stand as he thinks it would be ‘in the national interest,’ according to the Times.

UK Prime Minister Liz Truss announced her resignation as leader of the Conservative Party on Thursday and said she would continue as Prime Minister until her successor has been chosen.

UK Prime Minister Liz Truss became the shortest-serving Prime Minister in the history of Britain when she resigned Thursday following a failed tax-cutting budget that rocked financial markets and led to a revolt within her own Conservative Party.

Liz Truss took office on 6 September 2022 ( six weeks ago). It came after a lengthy Conservative leadership race between her and Rishi Sunak, sparked when Boris Johnson announced his resignation at the start of July. 219
