Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel on Tuesday night denounced US President Donald Trump's decision to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal, saying that he will drive Middle East to instability.

No #IranDeal means more instability or war in the Middle East. I deeply regret the withdrawal by @realDonaldTrump from #JCPOA,' Michel wrote in a tweet.

The EU and its international partners must remain committed and Iran must continue to fulfill its obligations, he continued.

The landmark Iran deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), was struck between Iran and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council --China, France, Russia, Britain and the US-- plus Germany and the EU, in Vienna in 2015.

US withdrawal from the international pact drew fierce criticism from around the world, the UK, France and Germany, among others, have issued a joint statement criticizing President Donald Trump’s decision to pull out the US from the nuclear deal with Iran.
