Dhaka (IP) - Following the resignation of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on August 5, all political parties and citizens, excluding the Awami League, are celebrating Victory Day.

Iran Press/Asia: People from various sectors, including the Chief Advisor and President, honored the 1971 martyrs at the Savar National Memorial.

Additionally, several organizations organized processions in the capital on Victory Day, drawing thousands of participants.

Rally participants chanted slogans such as "The war is not over," "Where there is a bond, there is resistance," "Let fascism die, let democracy be free," "Slave, not freedom, freedom freedom," and "Dalali no Rajpath, Rajpath Rajpath."

Slogans like "I want to hang, I want the hanging of murderer Hasina," "This will not happen in Bengal, the address of discrimination," and "Delhi, not Dhaka, Dhaka Dhaka" were also evident, along with placards demanding "Indian Aggression, Rukhe Dao Rukhe Dao."

After a grueling nine-month armed conflict in 1971, Bangladesh freed itself from the discrimination, oppression, and brutality of the Pakistani government.

Since then, Bangladeshis have celebrated December 16 as Victory Day.
