Iranian para-athletes claimed all three medals of men's discus throw class of F54/55/56 at 2018 Asian Para Games.

Iran PressIran news: According to Mehr News Agency, Alireza Ghaleh Nasseri On Monday snatched the gold medal of this category with a throw 43.12m.

The silver and bronze medals also went to Iran’s Jalil Bagheri and Hamed Amiri who successfully threw the discus to distances of 37.14m and 29.46m respectively.

2018 Asian Para Games kicked off on Saturday in Jakarta and will continue through October 13. Some 2,831 athletes from 43 countries have participated in the event. A total of 209 athletes, consisting of 137 men and 73 women, represent Iran in the 2018 Asian Para Games in 13 sports.

Earlier, Iranian sports squad won one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals in the first day of 2018 Asian Para Games.

An Iranian female shooter won the gold medal at Asian Para Games in Indonesia.

Sareh Javanmardi came first in the shooting Para sport events on the second day of the competition. This was the third gold medal of the Iranian team in the games.

The 3rd Asian Para Games opened in Jakarta on October 6 with a spectacular 'We Are One' opening ceremony performance.

Some 3,000 athletes from 43 countries and regions in Asia are competing in the games on Oct. 6-13. The competitions feature 18 sports, including track and field, swimming, badminton, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair volleyball, and chess. 

Iran is represented by 209 athletes in the Asian Para Games, with 136 men and 73 women competing in 13 disciplines.

Iran finished in fourth place in the past two editions in Guangzhou (2010) and Incheon (2014).

The 2018 Asian Para Games are being held from October 6th to 13th at the Bung Karno Sports Complex in the capital city of Jakarta, Indonesia.
