Iran Press/ Asia: Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, in a meeting with Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi on Tuesday evening in Tokyo, referred to the Hormuz Peace Endeavor (HOPE) presented by the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani at the UN General Assembly, saying: "In order to maintain security, peace, and stability in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, it invites all countries affected by the developments in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz to support the coalition of HOPE.
Japan's Foreign Minister, for his part, referred to the region's special conditions and said that Tokyo is concerned about the situation in the Middle East, adding that using diplomatic efforts, all should try to ease tensions.
Earlier, the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister also held talks with Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo.
Araghchi arrived in Tokyo on Sunday evening at the invitation of his Japanese counterpart to attend the 28th meeting of the Iran-Japan political advisory committee at deputy foreign ministers-level and attend the 1st Tokyo Global Dialogue and also discuss bilateral relations and the latest developments over the Iranian nuclear agreement 2015 known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Speaking at the meeting of the Iran-Japan political advisory committee, Deputy Foreign Minister reiterated that the only solution to the current deadlock over Iran's nuclear agreement 2015 is to lift illegal sanctions and return to diplomacy, saying no one should question Iran for reducing commitments to the agreement.
