Iran's deputy FM said that Israeli occupation is at the core of the problems in the region.

Iran Press/Iran news: A political delegation headed by the Polish deputy foreign minister arrived in Tehran to hold talks with Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Seyed Abbas Araghchi.

In a meeting on Monday, the Iranian and Polish diplomats discussed US-sponsored anti-Iran conference dubbed ‘Ministerial to Promote a Future of Peace and Security in the Middle East’ and is scheduled for February in Warsaw, Mehr news agency reported.

In the meeting, Araghchi said that the crisis in the Middle East has roots in the occupying regime of Israel and the Israeli occupation is at the center of the problems in the region.

The Iranian deputy foreign minister added that the fact that the issue of Israeli occupation of Palestine is not on the agenda of the conference shows the true nature of the conference and reveals the fact that the United States is seeking another goal other than addressing the real problems of the region.

Araghchi rejected the conference as unacceptable, warning the Polish government about its consequences and real intention of the US government.

The Polish deputy foreign minister, for his part, stressed his country's resolute support for the Iran nuclear deal known as the JCPOA.

The diplomat added that the upcoming Warsaw conference will focus on ways to advance peace and security in the Middle East and will not be against any country, including the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Referring to the good bilateral relations between the two countries of Iran and Poland, he stressed: "Poland believes that Iran is an important player in the Middle East and plays an effective role in the regional developments. Poland is interested in participating to solve the region's problems, and Warsaw as Tehran’s friend will not allow any action against Iran".

The anti-Iran summit is hosted jointly by Poland and US and is supposed to be held on 13 and 14 February 2019 in the Polish capital of Warsaw.

Ministry of foreign affairs summoned Poland's chargé d'affaires on Saturday, Jan. 12, conveying Iran's official protest at the holding the conference.

This is while, some countries have said that they will not participate, and some other like France and Britain have not yet announced whether they participate in the meeting or not.
