Poland deputy foreign minister arrives in Tehran

Poland deputy foreign minister, Maciej Przemys?aw arrived in Tehran on Monday to have a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araqchi.

Iran Press/Iran news: The Polish deputy foreign minister, Maciej Przemys?aw's visit to Tehran takes place following Iran's protest to Poland due to Warsaw's co-hosting of an anti-Iranian conference organized by the US, which is to be held on 13 and 14 February.

According to IRNA, recently, during a visit to West Asia, the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo announced that Poland, upon an American initiative, will host the conference which he dubbed as 'Future of Peace and Security in the Middle East.'

Iranian authorities have repeatedly expressed their unhappiness about the plan and protested against the conference.

On 14 January, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Bahram Ghassemi said that Iran will definitely response firmly to Poland due to hosting an anti-Iran convention.

On 12 January, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif slammed the upcoming international summit on the Middle East, set to be held in Poland in February, calling it an 'anti-Iran circus'.

And Iran is stronger than ever, Zarif added: “Polish Govt. can't wash the shame: while Iran saved Poles in WWII, it now hosts desperate anti-Iran circus.'

The anti-Iran summit is hosted jointly by Poland and United States, and is supposed to be held on 13 and 14 February 2019 in the polish capital, Warsaw. 105/ 211 /201
