China eager to boost collaboration with Iran, Chinese FM Spox. said

China's Foreign Ministry spokesman expressed Beijing's readiness to elevate collaboration with Iran in different areas.

Iran PressIran news: In a press conference on Monday Geng Shuang pointed out to Mohammad Javad Zarif's visiting his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, saying that China is keen to improve cooperation with Iran.

The Chinese spokesman referred to the sustainable and growing ties over the past four decades and said the two foreign ministers discussed regional and international issues of mutual concern.

Heading a delegation, Zarif arrived in Beijing Airport on Monday and was welcomed by Chinese officials and Iran's ambassador in Beijing.

He condemned US economic pressure on China as well as the US and some western countries' meddling in Beijing's internal affairs.

The Iranian Foreign Minister also expressed hope that European signatories to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) would fulfill their obligations under the nuclear agreement.

Zarif has taken a trip to the Far East, beginning his visit with China. He then will leave China for Japan, and Malaysia. 205/215
