Iran Press/Europe: Police clashed with protesters as they marched in central London chanting ‘not my Prime Minister’ in despair over Boris Johnson’s landslide election win.
The demonstrators, brandishing signs that read ‘Defy Tory Rule’ and ‘Refugees Welcome’, walked at speed from outside Johnson’s Downing Street residence to Trafalgar Square, The Guardian reported.
Eyewitnesses at the scene described the protests as 'chaotic'. At least one demonstrator’s face was bloodied during the brief exchange.
It comes after the Tories won an 80-seat majority in a historic election which saw Labour suffer its worst election defeat since 1935.
