Doha (IP) - Iran's foreign minister and the head of the political office of the Islamic resistance movement of Hamas met in Qatar after the announcement of the ceasefire agreement.

Iran PressWest Asia: According to Iran Press; Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas' political bureau of the Islamic resistance movement Hamas, met and talked with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in Doha on Thursday.

In this meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran was informed about the latest situation of the war against the people of Gaza, as well as the temporary ceasefire agreement.

This is Haniyeh's third official meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Qatar after the victory of the Al-Aqsa Flood operation.

Prior to this meeting, Iran's Foreign Minister arrived in Doha after consulting with Lebanese authorities, and this evening he consulted with the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar regarding the Palestinian crisis and initiatives to maintain the ceasefire and provide assistance to the people of Gaza. 

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar announced on Thursday that the temporary ceasefire in Gaza will be implemented at 7:00 a.m. on Friday, and the contacts with all parties and mediators have ended and the list of the names of those who will be released has been handed over.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar emphasized that the first group of civilian hostages will be handed over tomorrow, Friday.

Al-Qassam Brigades (the military branch of Hamas) also emphasized in a statement that the temporary ceasefire will be effective from tomorrow, Friday, November 24, 2023, corresponding to 10 Jumadi al-Awwal 1445 Hijri at 7:00 am (Palestinian time).
