Iran Press/Iran News: Brigadier General Hassan Shahvarpour in the 37th anniversary of the Khorramshahr liberation from Iraqi Bath army said: "Our enemies, led by the US, couldn't defeat us in our eight years of sacred defense."
General Shahvarpour, noted to the sacrifices and resistance of Khuzestan's brave people after Iraqi Bath regime invasion to Iran on 22 September 1980, and said: "The US staged a war against Iran by supporting Saddam, Iraqi criminal of the century, to invade Iran and equipped Saddam's army to all kind of weapon and ammunition, but sacrifices and resistance of Khuzestan's brave people overcome global arrogance."
He said supported by America, Iraqi warplanes bombarded Khorramshahr, Abadan, and other cities of Khuzestan province, but our people's resistance defeated the US.
