Reports indicate that the suspects, identified as the Khawarij sedition group, utilized Afghan Taliban border posts in Chrome Agency and North Waziristan to conduct attacks. With a presence in Pakistan, news outlets reported that 15 infiltrators were killed and numerous others were wounded in these incidents and confrontations.
According to security sources, the individuals attempted to re-enter Pakistan yesterday. When their efforts were unsuccessful, they, along with the Afghan Taliban, launched an attack on Pakistani border posts.
Dawn News added in its report: "Security forces responded decisively, forcing them to retreat and inflicting heavy losses on them."
The sources highlighted that there were no casualties among Pakistani forces in the clashes, with only three personnel sustaining injuries. Pakistan has consistently urged the Afghan government to stop terrorist groups from using its territory against Pakistan. Pakistani officials allege that rather than confronting these elements, the Afghan Taliban are backing them and facilitating their unrestricted activities.
Pakistani security forces have reiterated their commitment to responding firmly to any aggression or infiltration attempts. Afghan Taliban-linked media reports suggest that Pakistani fighter jets retaliated, resulting in the alleged deaths of 19 Pakistani soldiers in certain regions. However, official sources in Pakistan have not confirmed this information.
Pakistani fighter jets targeted Taliban positions in Afghanistan earlier this week.
