Speaking to reporters after visiting Vali-E-Asr University in Rafsanjan, a large town in Kerman province in south eastern Iran, the Afghan minister of higher education, Najibullah Khwaja Omari said his country is open to using the expertise and experiences of Iranian academicians.
The Afghan minister, Khwaja Omari, said Iran's higher education system is a role model for Afghanistan's higher education system.
Iran's Minister of Science,Research and Technology, Mansour Gholami, said for his part, that Iran's aim is to advance the academic experiences of young Afghan students and expand academic cooperation between the two countries by doing joint research projects.
Some 22000 Afghan students study in Iranian universities.The views expressed by some of these students suggest the main issue facing them is "high tuition fees". Afghan students have requested Iranian officials to provide them with higher education at an affordable price.
