Afghan Ambassador summoned over anti-Iranian moves

Tehran (IP) - Afghanistan's Ambassador to Tehran Abdolghafor Lival was summoned to the Iranian foreign ministry on Saturday morning over the recent anti-Iranian measures taken by some specific groups in Afghanistan.

Iran PressIran news: In recent days, some specific movements are taken in Afghanistan by particular political currents, with anti-Iranian background, seeking to disturb Iran-Afghanistan adjacency.

In recent weeks, two issues, including a car accident carrying Afghan refugees and illegal immigrants in Yazd province, as well as some foreign media outlets claims that Afghan migrants drowned after being tortured and pressured by Iranian border guards have strained bilateral relations of the two countries.

During the meeting, the Iranian Assistant Minister for West Asia at the Ministry of Foreign affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Rasoul Mousavi expressed concern over the impact of the group's misguided actions on the two countries' neighborly relations.

Following the car crash of Afghan nationals in Yazd Province, the Afghan Ambassador also held a meeting with the officials of the province last week and noted, “We believe that human traffickers and the driver are responsible for this incident.”
