Iran Press/ Asia: The seminar was attended by the Vice-Chancellor of Beijing University, the Director-General of Scientific and Academic Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Culture and Communication, the Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in China, and a group of professors, researchers, Chinese and Iranian thinkers, and Beijing University students. Iran's Ambassador to China, Mohammad Keshavarzzadeh, described Iran-China relations as excellent and said: "The interactions between the two countries have strengthened the exchanges between their people, and the two nations have sought to deepen their relations by getting to know each other."
He also tweeted: "In the seventh Iranology at Beijing University, more than 30 speakers from two countries studied Iranian studies in China."
He added: "Persian language and literature and Iranian studies in Chinese universities have met with general success, and the development of Chinese studies in Iran can also strengthen the ties between the two ancient nations.
The purpose of holding this seminar is the necessity of exchanging faculty members in Iranology, trying to promote the activities of Chinese researchers about Iran, and creating more opportunities in Iranian studies for Chinese researchers and Iranologists.
At the opening of the seminar, the Vice-Chancellor of Beijing University, Wang Bo, said: "The Silk Road has connected the people of China and Iran for more than 2,000 years. This year coincides with the 50th anniversary of establishing official relations between China and Iran, and the relations between the two countries have entered a new phase."
