Kampala (IP) – Six people have died in twin explosions that rocked Ugandan capital Kampala on Tuesday Morning along Parliamentary avenue and around the Central Police Station (CPS). The dead include three suicide bombers.

Iran PressAfrica: Police Counter Terrorism response teams managed to pursue a fourth suicide bomb attacker and shot and injured him.

The bomb squad has recovered two more bombs in Nansana-Katooke, a Kampala suburb.

Police Counter Terrorism is combing the city to locate possible bombs and detonate them.

"We are now pursuing other members of the terror groups," police Spokesman Fred Enanga told journalists in Kampala.

Police said Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels are responsible for the attacks.

"The bomb threats are still active, the ADF linked radicalized groups, still have a desire to carry out lethal attacks, on soft targets, with suicide attackers and improvised explosive devices," police said.

Anita Among, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, suspended Parliament and asked the legislators to remain at home. The decision followed explosions that ripped through the city at two different locations.

Many people who were in the city have rushed out.

These attacks come 22 days after the last suicide bomb attack on a Swift Safaris Bus.
