Dubai (IP) - Following the visit of the Iranian Foreign Minister to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the consultation with the country's authorities as well as the agreement of the UAE's President, 15 Iranian nationals detained in that country were pardoned and will soon return to Iran.

Iran PressIran News: Based on the announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir- Abdollahian made a visit to the United Arab Emirates on July 1 and met and discussed with high-ranking Emirati officials regarding bilateral issues.

During these meetings, the issue of imprisoned Iranian nationals was raised.

Thanks to the approval of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, 15 of these people were pardoned and will soon return to Iran after going through administrative procedures.

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, consular and judicial support for Iranians living abroad and the handling of their situation, including prisoners, will be seriously continued by Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On June 22, Amir-Abdollahian visited the UAE, where he discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation in separate meetings with Emirati President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The trip followed stops in Qatar, Kuwait and Oman amid a flurry of diplomatic moves by the Islamic Republic of Iran to improve ties with neighbors and secure the region.

Recently, 11 Iranians were released from Kuwaiti jails and seven more from Qatari prisons.
