Iran Press/ Iran news: Responding to a question from Qom MP Mojtaba Zonnour on the question of what is the cause of conflicting national interests, including about the US ability to disable Iran's defense system and money laundering in the country, Mohammad Javad Zarif said: "During foreign missions, I have strongly supported all policies of the Islamic Republic. Whether or not I have a say in these policies".
He added: "I have repeatedly stated that we should all have the best analysis but make the best decisions. I acted in defense of all the policies of the Islamic Republic, no one has ever defended the Islamic Republic's missile capability as much as I did," Iran Press reported.
Attending the open session of Iran's Majlis on Monday, Zarif noted that his words were overstated and cut by some news agencies, adding: "My words about Iran's missile capability are the same as Imam Khomeini's words in the first year of the revolution."
He continued: "They believed that what preserves our revolution and our country is the presence and support of the people, nothing more. Therefore, in my short speech at the University of Tehran, after praising the country's military capabilities, I emphasized that what preserves our country is the culture and sacrifice of the people. That sustains the revolution. Tell me if you think I'm wrong."
The Foreign Minister criticized a news agency that had cut his remarks, saying: "I have always defended the country's missile defense and missile capabilities, both inside and outside the country, and this can be confirmed in my remarks at recent meetings in India, Astana, and Doha."
