Iran Press/Iran news: On July 23, 2024, the documentary "Epic of the Butterfly" was officially unveiled, focusing on the severe repercussions of medical and dressing sanctions on children with Epidermolysis Bullosa and other critical illnesses.

The film's writer and director, Alireza Mohammadi, provided insights into the documentary's approach. "Epic of the Butterfly dramatically explores the unethical nature of the medical and pharmaceutical crisis these patients endure. This perspective, largely unaddressed globally, is narrated in our film," Mohammadi explained.

He emphasized the documentary's broad audience, stating, "Our target is not just Iranian officials or the public but global intellectuals, sociologists, and philosophers. It is showcased in Geneva, think tanks, and various major international festivals to highlight the ethical void in global society."

Mohammadi also noted, "In this documentary, we remind the world of Iran's rich history in medical science, drawing from the legacies of figures like Al-Farabi and Avicenna."

The documentary premiered at Roudaki Hall and is set to be shown in other countries. Mohammadi mentioned, "Ambassadors and members from organizations like ECO and UNESCO stationed in Iran are invited to view the film, hoping to amplify the voices of these patients globally. This might spark a fundamental change and engage the people of America and Europe."

The "Epic of the Butterfly" seeks not only to present the dire situation faced by these patients but also to challenge the international community's moral compass in responding to humanitarian crises exacerbated by political decisions.
