Iran Press / Iran news: The First International Conference on the investment opportunities in the Eastern Iran tourism was held in Pars Hotel, Holy city of Mashhad, North-Eastern Iran.
The event was aimed at absorbing investment of the Iranians living abroad as well as introducing the latest equipment and services in the tourism industry, Iran press reported.
"The tourism sector will lead to the economic prosperity through sustainable development and the process draws the government's attention toward the tourism industry for it is free of problems that the other national industries are entangled," said Iran's Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Ali Asghar Mounesan on Thursday during the international event.
The top Iranian official went on to say that last year some 7 million foreign tourists traveled to Iran and since the beginning of the current year nearly 4.9 million tourists have taken a trip to the Islamic country from all across the world.
The First International Conference on the investment opportunities in Eastern Iran tourism attended by the representatives from the 6 countries including Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey, the Sultanate of Oman, Tajikistan.
Furthermore, 6 Provinces of Iran including The Northern and Southern Khorasan and Khorasan Razavi together with Kerman, Semnan, Sistan and Baluchestan along with the ECO Cultural Institute also contributed to the event. 4 sessions of Panel discussion, together with the unveiling of the professional album of tourism as well as the memorial stamp were also among other programs of the event.205/219
