Referring the August 19, 1953 coup d'état known in Iran as the 28 Mordad coup d'état conducted by US and UK which overthrew prime minister, Mohammad Mossadegh, Larijani said before opening session in parliament on Sunday that" today, the imperialistic guile or charm has showed itself in other ways using nuclear program, defense capability and Iran's effective role in the region as a pretext".
"Americans who have slapped sanctions shamelessly shout slogans like defending human freedoms as wells as global and regional security. How can the perpetrator of the infamous August 19, 1953 coup d'état, and supporter of dictators around the world, even talk about Iranian nation freedom?" He asked .
Larijani asked rhetorically: "When you with your weapons unleash terrorists to kill innocent peoples of the region, how can you speak about global and regional security?"
"Their aims are economical dominance, the sanctions reveal their plot, their attempts for Iranophobia and making concerns in other countries are for plundering those countries" He concluded
