Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif says the world is not ready to follow US path toward Iran

Iran Press/Iran: Foreign Minister Zarif during a televised interview on Wednesday night said that Iran's territorial integrity has been preserved in the Caspian sea Convention.  

  "I want to stress that if foreign policy has one goal, that goal undoubtedly would be defending territorial integrity of the country. Of course protection of national security, political independence and helping subsistence of people are among foreign policy duties. One special goal followed by this government has been constructive interaction especially with neighbors. We have best condition in relation with our northern neighbors. We have very good relation with our northern neighbors. We are interested in lasting and durable relations. Caspian Sea convention not only protect our territorial integrity but also lead to a friendship relation with these neighbors. this is very important to Islamic Republic of Iran, especially at the time of increasing international sanctions, neighbors have critical place in connecting our country to others" FM said.

Referring to US sanctions , Zarif stressed that " US is seeking psychological atmosphere but our people are so vigilant and will foil its effect.

"the whole goal is to affect on our country psychologically and to our trade partners in the world. I believe there was a shock that affect on psychological atmosphere  but this psychological atmosphere will be broken," He  added

"Today the US' closest allies, apart from a few of our neighbors, are no longer aligned with Washington," said Zarif.  

He stressed that the US' withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) has perfectly manifested the country's isolation on the global stage.

Zarif noted that the EU has so far lived up to its commitments, but they have to “move beyond words."

"The Europeans say the JCPOA is a security achievement for them. Well, you ought to pay for your security. No one finds security without investment," he concluded
