The spokesman for Iran's foreign ministry, Bahram Ghasemi, has emphasized that the U.S. will be the loser if it carried on with its current policies, and that sooner or later, the Americans must change their policies vis-a-vis the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iran Press/ Iran- In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Monday, the foreign ministry spokesman, Bahram Ghasemi, emphasized that the U.S. has made dozens of strategic mistakes vis-a-vis Iran over a number of decades, as well as strategic mistakes in relation to Iraq, Afghanistan,  and the Middle East in general.

In further remarks, the foreign ministry spokesman said the United States will definitely be unable to attract international support for its unilateral sanctions against Iran, given the US's isolation in the world, and the sanctions will ultimately fail. Ghasemi pointedly added: "Iran, on the other hand, is in an excellent position.  We have growing trade and business deals with our partners, our neighbours, Asian countries,  European countries, with every prospect of a growing and flourishing economy.

Ghasemi added:  "The Americans are in a kind of quandary, they are dithering, they don't have a correct understanding of the Islamic Republic.  The  U.S. will be the loser if it carried on with its current policies, and behaviour. Sooner or later, the Americans must change their policies vis-a-vis the Islamic Republic of Iran. They must recognize the realities of Iran.  They should know, if they don't know already, that Iran and the Iranian people have resisted and overcome all sorts of attacks by foreigners throughout history, emerging from these attacks more united and unified than ever before.

Asked what would Iran do in relation to US sanctions, Ghasemi said: "Iran's stance is clear. We will resist U.S. policies and pressure. We shall do this by cooperating with our international partners, we shall fight terrorism in the region and elsewhere, we shall work towards peace and stability in this region and the wider world, cooperating with other countries. This in itself is countering and opposing US policies. The Trump administration, and Mr. Trump himself, has done everything possible to assist the terrorists, to spread terrorism,  and destabilize this region. The U.S. and its allies have failed in this regard, and it seems they are more than a little angry that the terrorists have been defeated in this region. This is our answer to Donald trump and his administration !!"
