Rouhani: No oil will pass through Persian Gulf if US stops Iran's oil exports
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has said no oil will cross from the Persian Gulf if Iran is deprived of its legal right to export oil.
Iran Press/Iran news: "US claimed that Iran would not be able to export oil from the Persian Gulf, but the US should know that no oil will get through the Persian Gulf if Iran is deprived of its legitimate and legal right to export oil", President Hassan Rouhani said in his speech in Shahrood city in north eastern Iran.
On 14 November, Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani said despite US attempts to cut-off Iran's oil exports, threatening to reduce them to zero, Tehran will continue to sell its oil to numerous buyers.
The United States announced reinstatement of sanctions targeting Iran’s oil industry on November 4. In the second round of sanctions against Iran, US targeted 700 individuals, banks, aircraft, ships and companies tied to Iran’s energy and financial industries.
"US wanted to break Iranian people's back but the people did not let the US to achieve its goal," Iranian President added.
"US said that it would stop Iran's oil export and would block the country's trade relationship with the world, but it can not do that. The US is not able to divide Iran from its' neighbors and cannot block Iran's trade relationship with the rest of the world and within the region," Rouhani continued.
"The United States is seeking to weaken our relations with the rest of the world, but our relations with the world is friendly and US cannot sever our relations with regional states and cannot cut our trade relations with them," Iranian President added.
Rouhani noted: “Today, is the day of the historic test of the Iranian nation. After 40 years of fighting a cruel enemy like the US, we have achieved great victories.”
“The United States was after a coup in this country, separating Iran and Khuzestan, and putting the country under pressure through sanctions, but it was never successful in pursuing its goals,” Iranian President added.
The President also said: “a powerful Iran is intolerable for the Americans and Zionists and the great Iranian nation have never yielded to them and won’t do so.”
“The Islamic Republic of Iran’s relations with the world will develop day by day,” continued the president.
"We will expand our relations. US is trying to segregate Iran from China, India and Europe, engaging in an Iranophobic campaign, but it will ultimately fail," Rouhani noted.
President Rouhani added: "US has been defeated in UN, Security Council, General Assembly and international courts of law."
On October 3, the International Court of Justice ordered the United States to lift sanctions on Iran that affect imports of humanitarian goods and products and services linked to the safety of civil aviation.
Humiliated after that defeat at the World Court, and in a knee-jerk reaction, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Washington would be scrapping the 1955 treaty.
The International Court of Justice is the main judicial body of the United Nations that settles the disputes between member states according to the international law and gives advisory information on queries referred to it from UN and specialized agencies.
