  • Iran's Foreign Ministry: US involved in psychological warfare against Iran

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman says US authorities are responsible for psychological warfare against the Iranian nation to cover up their illegal sanctions which is a form of economic terrorism.

Iran Press/Iran news: Bahram Ghasemi was reacting to recent deceitful claims by Mike Pompeo, the US Secretary of State who said Iran's economic growth had slowed down because of the country's presence in the region.

Ghasemi described Pompeo's speeches as demagogic, erroneous and deceitful and aimed at dividing the Iranian people.

Earlier, referring to America's illegal and unilateral sanctions against Iran, the  spokesman said, the US' new sanctions list is part of a psychological war against Iran, IRNA reported.

The US' measure is the result of its hostility, Bahram Ghasemi said in reaction to the US Treasury Department's new list of Iranian companies which have been sanctioned by the US.

Unlike its hypocritical allegations in supporting Iranian people, the US government is trying to create obstacles on taking advantage of foreign economic relations with international community and threaten their interests in contravention of international and human rights regulations.

Referring to the interim order issued by International Court of Justice (ICJ) to prevent the US from taking any steps to intensify the dispute with Iran, Ghasemi said the US approach and its lack of commitment to international laws and regulations not only threatens Iranians' interests but it also threatens stability and security of the globe.

Meanwhile Iran and the international community are determined to preserve the nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which is a multilateral agreement endorsed by the United Nations.
