Hormozgan (IP) - A team of maritime repair servicemen in the Shahid Rajaee port, Hormozgan province, southern Iran, was able to successfully carry out the dry-docking operation of a 320,000 ton super giant oil tanker.

Iran Press/Iran news: The operation of the Dore supertanker was successfully carried out at the Bandar Abbas Shipping Complex on Monday, said Ismail Makizadeh, marine deputy of the Ports and Maritime Administration of Hormozgan Province.

The ship belongs to the National Iranian oil tanker fleet and is a "giant oil tanker" with a length of 333 meters and a weight of 320 thousand tons.

Makizadeh said this is the first time that the dry-docking operation of such a gigantic ship is carried out in Iran. Until now, this type of ship repairs has been done in foreign countries.

Supertankers are the largest oil tankers in the world's maritime industry, which include giant tanker with a capacity of over 160,000 tons.
